briggs & stratton ride on lawnmower 11.5 bhp?

drained petrol oil for winter put in new petrol oil cleaned filter checked plug,starts let it run until warm yous hand throttle to increase speed engine stops repeat same thing happens pull choke out an inch will run? put choke back in engine stalls any clues?
