How do I screw baton to upvc door for blind?

We have ordered a hand made blind and they lady will fit but we need to install a 1inch baton to the upvc above the glass. I am concerned we may damage the glass or break the seal.

We can not fix this to the wall above so this is the only option. Any suggestions??

Anyone acheived this before?

drill pilot holes first then use self tapping screws. one inch above will not hit the glass as long as you drill straight. I would imagine she needs a baton because it is a home made ROMAN BLIND and she needs to put the cord eyes in the wood and velco and taple the blind to it. If this is not the case you should be able to fit the blind striaght onot the door.
