Mend John Deere LTR166 Mower Transmission

John Deere LTR 166 Hydro won't go forward or backward after 30-40 minutes ?

Any idea as to how to fix a hydo that won't go forward or backward after mowing for 30-40 minutes? The engine runs fine. I have replaced the filter in the transmission and oil, but this doesn't seem to help. The dealer said to buy a new transmission. Is there any other solution?
