fixed vane turbo - Mondeo Mk 3?

Thanks Nigel, by outlet pipe do you mean the exhaust pipe.
I was thinking it could be a siezed wastegate control thing, the one with the rod, its near solid, shouldnt it move with the slightest pull? Or maybe a leak along the rout to/from intercooler. Thing is, I took it to my ( lying ) ex mechanic and he showed great delight that he had it working again but it soon went to on / off mode, why would it work sometimes then fail ?
