Mend MTD Yardman Battery Start Making

My yardman wont turn over?

I cant get my mtd yardman to turn over. The battery was at 100% but when I went to start it it started to turn over then just started making a fast ticking sound. The sound was near the battery at the back of the tractor. Any help would be appreciated.
