My 86 3cx 2wd will work in reverse fine. When I need forward it will select it ok when cold but once warm it needs 2/3 movements of selector back and forward to get it. Also when it meets an incline it looses a lot of power. I've noticed an oil drip from between engine/torque-con and it seems to be milky?! Is the trans oil cooler gone?
Also my machine no. is 318*** black cab, can any one tell me what project no. this is and where I could get an operator/service manual?
Foward clutch pack has worn out. G/box needs to come out for replacement of the plates. The clues to why it is the forward pack is that you have no problem in reverse, and as you will know these transmissions have forward and 4 reverse gears. The oil is thicker when cold, and provides more resistance to worn plates.

Pull the transmission dipstick out, is the fluid milky ? Are you having to add coolant to the radiator ? Please provide serial number of the 86' model BHL. You can purchase a operators manual from your JCB dealer. If you do not know your JCB dealer, you can locate your closest dealer at www.jcb.com click on find a dealer.
