Mend Craftsman Running Couple Replaced

6.5hp Craftsman lawnmower starts but shuts of after running a couple of sec?

Cleaned the carb, replaced all gaskets , replaced "O"ring on end of stem of carb. Float seems to be OK. haven't tried kill switch wire because it does start when primed. Note! Motor is a 6.5 tecumseh with plastic/aluminum carb, no adjustment can be made to it???

A clogged air filter will produce this symptom, and is easily replaced. To verify, and possibly avoid buying a new one for nothing, remove the air filter and then try starting again. If it runs fine, that's the problem. Shut it down, replace the filter with a new one, and off you mow...
