how do I fix my aiwa cd/dvd player intermittantly giving reading error?
I've tried using a DVD cleaning disk but to no avail ?
The disk spins for a while at high speed, then after about 20 seconds stops and says "disk error" its the same with most normal CD's its also getting worse.
my dvd movie wont turn and it is not reading it unless i puss up on the bottom of it

Buy a new one! Almost certainly the pickup has developed a fault. If contaminated with smoke, the output rises initially to try to compensate for falling light output. This soon leads to failure. Many so called repairers fit non-original replacement parts which are at best, not as good as the original ones. Think hard before spending much on this one.

Check the disc is spotless, especially no fingerprints on the disc surface (they hate fingerprints).
Lens cleaning discs are usually pretty useless to be honest. Especially, if it's in a smokey environment a lens cleaning disc will not be able to clean a foggy lens. Have it cleaned manually.
Otherwise, it's possible the laser pick-up is faulty.
