peugeot 406 2.0 petrol imobilizer problem?

i have a 1997 406 petrol, it was running fine, switched off went in shop came back 10 mins later put ignition on red light on key pad on, punched in code, green light came on as normal engine turned over but wouldnt start, cant here fuel pump working, so tried pump on another battery and pump ok so i presume the imobilizer is stopping it. is there any way of bypassing the imobilizer?
