Reich Single Lever Mixer Keramik Duett- Chrome?

I need to fit a new insert in my Reich Single Lever Mixer Keramik Duett- Chrome taps, but cannot get the chrome plastic surround off. I have managed to get the top lever off, but the chrome sourround won't budge. Any ideas?
