How do I put a Chainsaw brake back together?

I had the same problem. After several false attempts, I found that when I inserted the star wheel back on the stud, I was able to insert needle nose pliers into the spring to push the spring from the backend in toward the star wheel. The spring bowed up, and then snapped back into the slot. I had to hold the spring in with finger and thumb until I could get the cover back on.

I have same problem here in Finland ;i have tried to put the coiled spring in the handguard several times without luck : have you solved the proble, already?
