trumatic S3002 caravan heater has pilot light but won't start?

Hi, I have a trumatic S3002 caravan heater. The ignition (pilot light) is on when I depress gas control. It just will not start. I hold the knob down for a good 2 minutes I changed the gas tube same result.
Any help greatly appreciated,
