Powerflush vs Manual Flush? ?

My radiators are not heating up adequately. I have been recommended to have all the thermostatic and other valves replaced then have a Powerflush. If I replace the valves myself and hose through each rad when off the wall, should this be sufficient?

powerflush better than a manual flush because it shifts more. A lot of the pipework will need chemicals depending on it's size and also needs to be left in a least 7-10 days to give best results. Bgas do a very good powerflush and you have comeback if needed which also includes any re-piping if required - I was very pleased with them!. Add about 3 bottles of inhibitor after you can't have to much.

Manually flushing each rad is ok and will help get rid of loose debris and sludge, but you cant beat a full powerflush which cleans all the pipework etc of the complete central heating system, you can get a considerable build up of sludge and debris in the pipework, but this does depend on the overall age of the system and if its been treated with inhibitor etc. With a powerflush you can clean all of the system in both directions as long as you have bi-flow radiator valves. If you decided to go for a powerflush its worth getting numerous quotes as prices do vary (try avoiding British Gas as they are the dearest) Hope this helps?
