Mend Fisher Paykel DW681ES Light Flashes Times Machine

DW681ES Nemo Fisher Paykel light flashes 8 times?

Machine fills with water and starts washing. Machine makes shuddering sound. Can hear clicking like a relay cutting in and out. F&P said 8 flashes is "inadequate water level reached". I'm not sure that this is the case.
Any ideas. It seems impossible to find a faults code list or repair manual.
