If it is the rocker cover gasket than I think that it is unlikely to have any effect on the clutch plate.
Go with wickhams advice of getting them to first check engine/gearbox mountings. I guess that if this does not resolve the issue they should investigate further-- ie get their opinion on the operation of the clutch.

So should I wait until the oil leak is fixed to see how things go? Its the rocker(??) cover gasket, only had the car a week its obviously been an ongoing issue which the previous owner didnt bother getting fixed so the engine looks quite oily

As Wickham says,. you now mention oil leak, it might be oil contamination of the clutch plate
