replace immersion heater?

one thing peccavi failed to say was, drain the hot water system first, or you will have a flood

Isolate power - remove cover - disconnect wires - use a big immersion heater spanner to unscrew the element.

Screw in new heater - fit thermostat switch - wire up with thermostat switch in series with element - as it was before.

Fit cover - reapply power - test.
