TO CHANGE CAMBELT ON MONDEO YOU FIRST HAVE TO  REMOVE  NO 1 SPARK PLUG AND ROTATE OR ROCK THE CAR IN GEAR . TO BRING NO1 PISTON UP TO THE TOP FULLY  A WAY OF CHECKING THIS IS TO HAVE SOME BODY  INSERT A LONG FLAT HEADED SCREW DRIVED UNTIL IT REACHES TOP DEAD CENTRE . REMOVE ROCKER COVER AND INSERT A CAM SHAFT ALIGHNING TOOL I PURCHESED ONE THESE FROM A COMPANY CALLED AJAY AUTO PARTS . BUT  THESE CAN BE A PAIN IN THE ASS TO FIND .INSERT INTO CAMSHAFT SLOTS IF THIS TOOL DOES NOT FIT THEN THE TIMIMG IS 180 DEGREES OUT AND NEEDS TO BE ROTATED UNTIL THIS FITS  AND LAYS FLAT ON TOP OF ROCKER COVER SURFACE .  REMOVE TIMING COVERS  . I.E THE BEST WAY TO THIS IS TO JACK THE  ENGINE FRIM GEARBOX END  UNDO ENGINE CRADLE ON DRIVERS SIDE CAR . REMOVE CASES AND  USING A 17 MM SPANNER  UNDO TIMING TENSIONNER .
