Hotpoint FDW60 - Flashing Fast + Delicate lights. Heater element = 260 ohms?

Hi.

After reading lots of Forum posts about this being the heater element I took my Dishwasher apart and measured the resistance across the heater element. (Measured between the 2 contacts with with the purple and Pink wires going into it)

Resistance = 260 Ohms. - Is this Normal?

If so where do I go next - Should I test the thermostat and if so how and what am I looking for?

If I need to replace a circuit Board do you know where I can buy a spare from?

Thanks very much for reading,
Steve

Retested it again last night and it was 26 Ohms.. Doh!

I also set the dishwasher up again to see if my moving it about had fixed it at all and no luck. It starts taking in water and then within 1 minute drains and starts flashing its Fast and Delicate lights.

Would you asuggest going ahead and buying a replacement PCB board? - Do you know the Part number?
Thanks,

Thanks for the Reply. After speaking to a friend I suspect that I may be reading my meter wrong. I am going to have a look tonight an re measure it.

Do you know what is next assuming that the heater element is ok? Anything I can test or do I need to replace something.

Thanks Again!

26 ohms is more normal. Are you reading you meter correctly?.if the water heats you can safely say heater is working

Sorry I also forgot to say that the the problem I was having (Flashing Fast and Delicate lights, Dishwasher draining and not finishing its cycle) was a intermittent problem.

It did seem that the water was heating up each time but would not finish the wash / rinse cycle.

It did start off that 1 in 10 washes would have the problem, but then started getting worse to the point where 3 in 4 washes would have the problem!

Thanks
