2000 Renault Megane cabrio speedometer stopped working?

So my speedo stopped working about a week ago and i've searched for clues on the net, most people say that its to do with ABS in some way, but the dashboard light hasn't come on suggesting that isnt the cause.
The odometer and all other dials still work which makes this fault pretty localised. possibly a fuse problem?
