diverter valve?

I have an ideal mini c24 combi, it's playing up big time! When i take a shower the rads get hot, n the temperature of the hot water go's down. Is the diverter valve the problem? If so, do i change the body, or the head, or do i get a diverter valve kit? please help somebody!
