Mend Ariston One Combi Heating Fault

How can I fix my Ariston combi boiler?

My Ariston combi boiler stopped working the other day and I couldn't see what was wrong - pressure was ok etc. I took the front panel off and it fired up just fine. When I put the cover back on the problem started again so I've been running my heating/hot water for the past few days with the front cover off. What could be causing this problem?

I think there may be a micro-switch fitted, to detect that the front cover is fitted safely. If the switch is there, check that it is free to move properly. Don't run the boiler with the cover off.
