Mend Sony KV-28LS35U Flashing Remote

power on, green light flashing, nothing happening?

I have a Sony KV-28LS35U TV. When I press the 'on' button it seems to stick in the mode as if it had been switched off via the remote. When the button to power the TV up on the remote is pressed it sems to be stuck in the off/low power mode.

Is this a common fault ? Is it an easy fix ? HELP !
