miele g646 sc dishwasher as the led light inlet /outlet glowing red?

The inlet/drain light is really a ' Fault' light which can occur for MANY reasons.( not just inlet or drain).
When a fault occurs, the light comes on & the machine cancels the programme, usually with water still inside. This gives the impression of a drain fault, but this is usually NOT the case.
Cancel the programme ( by pressing the start button for a few seconds). Then select & start any programme. The first thing it will do on any programme is try to drain ( takes 20 seconds or so ). If it does drain, then you know the drainage is OK. If it lets water in then the inlet is OK.
