Mend Kirby G4 Need Place Plastic End

I need to place the plastic end to my G4 hose?

The "saftey pin" broke of the molded plastic hose end of my Kirby G4 and my wife called ot order the piece and bought only the end which I assumed would invlove cutting the old end off and remounting the entire new end, but the piece that came was only one of the 2 which comprise the end. How do I get the old one out and the new one in?

After a bit of frustration, the end of the hose is held on simply by the rim of the lower cuff. It can be pulled of by hand. This is a good way to save $40 repairing this problem. End only $8, new hose $50.
