Mend Briggs & Stratton Quantum Engine Start Drained

B&S Quantum engine won't run?

My logsplitter has a B&S 6HP Quantum motor on it. It will start and only run for a few seconds, then quits. I drained the gas tank last fall before storing it. I am thinking it is the carb. How can I fix it? And where do you look for the carb indentication number on it?
