6.75 hp Sears (Tecumseh 917.377593) to replace starter cord?

How do I remove the gas tank on my 917.377593 to get at the starter assembly? Once off, how do I replace the starter rope that frayed apart?

Having the same problem. Found exploded views of frame and rotor assemblies at sears.com. Go to the link 'parts' then enter your model number on the right to search for parts. When the next page pulls up click the 'browse' link and it will show you exploded views of the mower to help you identify parts and part numbers.

I need help with this now. Can anyone please help as I can't seem to remove the gas tank to get to the unit that houses the cord.
