How can I fix my washing machine?

I have a Hotpoint Aquarius 1200 washing machine, which does not appear to be rinsing all the soap powder out at the end of the program. Could it be the filter is blocked? If so, where is the filter? The water is draining OK. Any advice would be helpful.

the filter is in the rear of machine take off lid and rear panel and the filter is by the pump at bottom left side . you will have to take the black rubber hose off the bottomn of the drum the filter is inside.
