Mend Whirlpool Washer Drains Drain

how can I fix my washer/whirlpool?

My washer drains, just not completely. It leaves about 3 (1/2)ins of water. When it did this, I used to be able to put it back on spin, and it would drain. Then I washed a heavy blanket, that alot of threading came off of and it will no longer drain. IT still only leaves about 3 1/2 ins. Could it be clogged or would it need a new water pump?
