How do I stop the prewash light from flashing?

My prewash light keeps flashing on my Beko 1715s washing machine, any idease how to reset it and start using my washer again?

Ok after i had done this and started a wash cycle the drum would fill with water and then pause - if i pushed the play button it would drain again. After further investigation i found that the power connecter to the motor had come loose, once i reconnected it seems to be working fine again. So i'm thinking the reason the washer is halted and the Prewash light flashes on the Programme Follower is because of an underlying problem and stops it from doing anymore damage.

Thanks Michael - this worked great - this must be some sort of protocol that stops your machine from working so you call out an engineer to look at your machine reset it and charge you a call out fee, and maybe replace some bits that dont need replacing -

Mick - you're a genius! I had this problem ...

I set my Beko to do a 90 degree wash and after a while noticed that the prewash light started flashing (think it happened between end of wash and beginning of rinse cycle).

Found various postings which said that it was the childlock and advised pressing 2nd and 4th buttons for 3 seconds to reset. Obviously this failed because it was not a childlock problem.

Some other posting said that they cleared the flashing prewash light by powering off and holding in the play/pause button whilst turning on again. This stops the prewash light but (as stated in the posting) makes the Play light flash! I then just kept pressing Play and it ran through functions such as fill, tumble, rinse, spin a step at a time. Very tedious and obviously not long-term but enough to get me out of a predicament of not having my stuff washed. Eventually even this would not work.

I then found postings about blocked filters and so opened the little pipe at the bottom right (front) of the machine. Water poured out (and little girls' jewellery and some pennies!). I cleared this up but was back to my flashing prewash light!!

And then I found your posting and tried it. Success! It is going through some rinses now and appears to be OK again.

Is this issue only for Beko's or do other brands have the same problem?

we had this happen on ours,i found this out from another website.you need to leave the machaine swithced on at the mains but not the on off button.select a 90 deegre wash then hold down the play pause button at the same time for 3 secs.with out letting go get someone to turn the machine on at the switch then let go of the play pause, the play light should now be flashing.now select spin and hold the play pause button down again for 3 secs again then when you let go it should be reset.the only thing is after we done ours it now seams to want to spin when ever it wants,if you do yours can you please let me know if yours is fine or not cheers
