My Zanussi Washer Dryer will not start any program cycles?

My Zanussi ZWD washer dryer switches on and displays the correct time for each program etc. However, when the program is selected and I press start, the door clicks once as though the cycle is about to start then after 5 or 6 seconds there is a double click (I think from the door) and everything stops. No error code is displayed. I have checked filter and pump and everything seems ok. The dryer seems to work ok so it makes me doubt if the door lock is being a problem.

Any idea what the problem could be?

PS The washer worked fine on Saturday until my daughter had a party. It seems that quite a few people may have leant against the washer and started some programs by mistake. Now it won't start and just double clicks and stops as described earlier.
