follow it down from battery goes to body and engine also should have 1 from gearbox to body you can allways put an extra earth strap on it sometimes helps with bad connections on existing earths

The earth from battery should be connected to the starter motor bolts. I have had a transit with a earth problem it was a bad connection on the wire that goes to the battery earth clamp.Hope this helps you.
