It looks more like a typewriter with a correction tape, not a software based word processor. There was a time, in the 80's and early 90's, when such where falsly sold as word processors.
It's probably over 20 years old.
It's a mechanical fault, not a software problem.
Try to find a local repair shop that still do type writers.
