How can i fix my escort van 55d 2001 reg?

Ive just replaced the faulty starter motor on my escort 55 van (51 plate). Now the engine turns over just fine but it will not fire. There's a dribble of fuel coming out of the injector union pipes which makes me think its a stop solonoid problem. The battery was disconnected for a long time, could this have caused a problem with the PATS? The dash light doesn't seem to indicate key recognition problems. Also, it has a laserline t108 alarm system, does this also have an immobiliser, or could it be some other fault entirely? Can any one please suggest a solution as i'm getting desperate!

you will only get a dribble at injector union-as you say pressure is created by injectors.

thanks for the advice, will try these things tomorrow (peeing down today) so hope all goes well. Can any one please tell me if there should be a decent jet of fuel from the pump to injector supply pipes or is the pressure created in the injectors themselves? never worked on a diesel before so its all a bit foreign to me. cheers.

check wiring from pump across bonnet slam panel,tend to chafe and cause similar fault. also is there any signs of smoke from exhaust when turning over,if there is it may be your primer on filter head faulty [common fault] or pipes rubbed through down back of engine.are heater plugs all working?is feed to them ok.

ther is a metal case on the back of your injection pump remove this and you should have two wires coming from the stop solinoid cut the two wires leaving wire so you can connect to you nead to conect one to earth the van body and the other to the black wire on your egnition system the imobil;iser has shut it down this will bypass it i had this prob on my 96 escort van but mine i had to do the starter as wel takes about a hour and a half worst part is removing the metal from back of injection pump need set of star keys to remove pump when pully is removed to remove the pully just remove the three 13 mill bolts and not the 24 mill nut best of luck just done mine today and all is fine
