Just want start anymore?

I had it started a couple of days ago and there was steam coming from the engine, I put that down to no water getting to the radiator. I then left it and thought all i needed was a new pipe! So i came back to it and tried starting it again and smoke was coming from a different place with a funky smell coming from it, what could it be? Thanks.
