Mend Honda GV100 Mountfield Start Spark

honda gv100 engine?

i have a honda gv100 engine fitted to a mountfield mower .it has not been running for several years .i now want to use it .i have tried to start it but there is no spark i have checked the plug on another engine ok the kill switch is working ok the only thing remaining is the igntion coil how can i test the coil

Simple answer - you can't other than by substitution, or using an expensive coil tester.

Honda coils are pretty reliable - check that the kill wire is not grounding - or better - disconnect it completely from the coil and check for spark.

If the coil IS duff, replacement is the only answer.
