Why is my washing machine causing my electricity to trip?

I have a hotpoint washer WMA960p which is tripping the electricity as soon as I turn it on. Had a look inside but cant see any obvious problem. Have checked all other applieces and it is definatly the washer, Can anyone shed some light as to why and how to fix it

Sorry Bill but if you have to ask why an appliance is tripping out a fuse that means you have no idea about electricity or the danger involved in playing around trying to fix it.. Anyone who gives you advice and suggests you try things yourself is in my opinion being irresponsible & putting your life at risk. My advice is that there is something seriously wrong with the electrics in the machine and you should get an expert in to fix it properly for you.

disconnect the heater wiring and try it.If it works then the heater is down to earth and needs replacing
