Canon LBP5100 trouble?

Hi, I have a Canon LBP5100 and even though it is connected correctly and the lights on the printer are correct, the PC is saying it cannot connect to the printer.\r\nWhen I plug the printer into a USB port on my PC it shows ready in control panel but if I attempt a test page it says no communication.
Any ideas?
