how can I cure/repair stannah 300 chair lift?

When operating the switch lever to travel up or down, with the power switched on it will only move a very short distance a matter of cms then stops switch off and back on to reset and repeat it is as though it stops on overload even when not on seat. the main pcb is at base of seat could this be faulty or could it be something a simpler

hi terry.........answered on your previous question,,,,,test your batteries and make sure your mains supply is turned on to your battery charger !!!.also your main pcb should be situated in the main carriage housing sitting above the motor/gearbox.............regards
