fiat punto, boot lid problems?

I have a standard punto 04, when i open the boot the lid no longer stays up, can anyone help with this problem ?

Not vehicle specific. Most lids are held up with a locking mechanism, where you have to raise it to lower it, or gas struts, where you pull it down. look to the sides, they both can lock the same. If you have never needed to rais it further to lower it, you will have gas struts, usually black larger cylinder with chrome smaller diameter section. Some have one some have two. replace it or them. Usually clipped on, but could be bolted.
