renault laguna starting but just clicks?

hi . can any 1 tell me why my renault laguna wont start . i put the key card in fine, lights come on no problem,when i push the start button the engine just clicks i keep pushing it and now and again it will start. any sort off help needed. thanks for your time . glenn

have you tried holding the button in to start? sometimes it can change settings from one push to start to hold in to start
