my VHC180 tumble condser dryer makes a loud grr noise?

my VHC 180 tumble condser dryer started making a high pich sqeaking noise then stopped now it makes a loud grr nosie and only works if you turn the drum round on the inside but only for a few mintues with a very light load (a couple of shirts etc) then goes back to making the funny noise??
