IS THIS NORMAL?

I have a Frigidaire Crown Series washing machine and when in the wash cycle it agitates but the drum doesn`t lock up
the drum itself stops and then releases and does this while in the wash cycle .........is this normal for the type of washer
Seems to wash clothes fine ....................

Most machines rotate drum for few seconds in one direction then pause few more seconds then rotate in opposite direction, this normally continues throughout wash cycle but the times of rotation can vary with programme selected. Also you may find that some programmes don't rotate the drum for some minutes this is to avoid damage to delicate items and often occurs on wool cycle.
