Dualit 90200 DAB FM Lite Radio how do i fix broken aerial?

Dualit 90200 DAB FM Lite Radio

Is it easy to replace an aerial?- I don't know where to get a new one from and part of the aerial is still embedded in the radio- it looks like it might be tricky to get it out?

Thank you very much if anyone knows! It cost me £110 only 18 months ago; I can't afford a new one or a costly repair!

As of 15/06/2017 Dualit could no longer supply the aerial for this model which is also known as the DLR -1. They could also not reccomend a source.

I searching the internet I spoke to a very helpful lady at spares2you. When I gave the dimensions ton her she reccomended Roberts part PLU20361 for £10.99 plus postage of £3.49.

This part is dimensionally the same as the original and fits perfectly. My radio is now back to full working order again! This is the third aerial in 9 years!

I wonder did Roberts actually make these radios for Dualit? I also have a Rangemaster Fridge, which I am fairly sure Rangemaster didn't make!

A very helpful reply which enabled me to fit a replacement aerial (£12 inc. p&p from Dualit). In addition to the six screws holding the two parts of the radio together, it is also necessary to remove the plate (one small screw) on which the connecting socket sits as the screw which connects the socket to the aerial has its head facing down and cannot be undone without removing the plate to access the head. It is thus eight screws in all to be undone.

I don't think the answer given by K will work. I too had a broken aerial and I purchased a replacement from Dualit customer services for around £12. To fit the aerial it is necessary to remove 6 screws that hold the two parts of the radio case together. 4 screws at the corners of the case in deep holes, one behind the centre battery position and one beneath a circular rubber bung on the back side of the radio near the top of the case. With the screws removed gently pull the two parts of the case apart on a table top. There will be some wiring connecting the 2 parts which you don't have to touch. You will then see the bottom section of the aerial fixed into a connecting socket. To remove the broken part and replace it with the new part provided by Dualit you need to remove another small screw. You need a small cross head screw driver to undo the screws. It's a bit fiddly but otherwise straight forwards. And don't use much force when tightening the screws.

My radio is now as good as new.

if there is still some of the antenna sitcking out of the radio, ,or some of the part that bends up and down , the antenna is screwed in clockwise, so you should be able to get a grip on it with a plyers, and turn it anti clock wise , to take it off, , you can get a new one at maplins, and just screw it in, or you can just add a lenth of wire to the broken end, the same lenth of the broken part, tape it on, that will work fine light copper wire if you have any, just like one from a old power lead, from a radio, hair dryer ect, just strip the plastic off it and tape it on to the antenna that is sticking out, that will pull your radio stations,,
