Ferroli Optima?

Recently having switched on my boiler I found there was no hot water or heating, not being a bright spark I called out a ferroli plumber who seconds after opening the boiler up identified that I need a new PCB at a cost of £250 which he then dropped to £210 cash !! Having played with a few buttons and gave me the usuall talk I agreed to have it replaced. Can someone please tell me how not to get ripped off by these guys and have a better understanding of my little boiler.

My Ignition button doesnt seem to light my boiler any time it goes out and we need to use a match - dangerous I know ! Where can I get a replacment and how much should this cost to get supplied and fitted ? Also how often should I get my optima serviced I have had it for 11 years and it has never been looked at ?

Lee being a ferroli agent by best advise is to telephone the boiler company themselves and get a list of their local opperatives in your area.difficult to say if you were ripped off as prices vary across the country.
