My empisal Compal Galaxie keeps saying" Please raise blue lever" ?

I have an old Empisal Compal Galaxie computerised talking sewing machine. It suddenly does not want to work anymore and keeps saying "please raise blue lever" (in its annoying voice) , and no matter how many times I raise it and I have tried everything , it just keeps saying it and won't do anything else...grrrr
