THIS CYCLE IS NOT A WOOL CYCLE BY ANY CHANCE? IT WONT SPIN UP ON A WOOL CYCLE DUE TO IT MAY PULL WOOLENS OUT OF SHAPE SO THE MACHINE PROGRAMME WILL OMIT SPIN ON THIS CYCLE.CHECK YOUR MANUAL.

I've never heard of this problem before lol. Are you sure it doesn't have something to do with the wash load at 40º? You probably wash less clothes at 40º than you do at 60º so maybe your machine is having trouble balancing the load. Some of the newer washing machines have intelligent programs which help balance the load and sometimes if there is very little laundry in the machine it may have trouble balancing the load equally and thus it skips the spin cycle. Or if you use a preset program for 40º the program may be limiting the spin speed.

I have checked all the filters and removed the debris. The pump is removing the water. It just the clothes that are not spining. I have now replaced the motor brushes and that has not improved/changed the situation

Check the drain filter...if clear could be a pump fault
