Whats wrong with out BAXI solo 3 pfl 30 boiler?

Hi I have a baxi solo 3 pfl 30 boiler and the central heating will only work if I put the water heater on too! why? thanks"

I have burner light on only and pcb clicking like a relay so changed board clicking stopped but not going to fan checked sensor 1 M ohm ,ok checked gas valve 1.5 ohm ,ok pump running but nothing should I try changing air pressure switch or am I missing something

Even if the light for the fan is on, it doesnt mean the fan is rotating. It is a common fault that the fans cease over time due to the heat being drawn through it. Take out the fan assembly, lubricate it with some WD40 and retry it. This will prevent the pilot & burner lights from coming on and igniting the boiler.

There is a common problem with the Baxi Solo boilers. If you have the following:

1. boiler light only is on
2. the fan spins
3. the pump runs

and it doesn't fire up then it's normally because one of the Pressure Switch hoses has perished or the sensor itself is knackered.

hi there,
I have a baxi solo 3 PFL 30/80 boiler. I went on holiday 2 & half weeks ago and switched off the boiler through the wall mounted computer (Centaurplus C11). Now when I try to switch it back on, althougth the computer indicates that all systems are go the only lights lit up are the boiler light and fan light. There is now no hot water nor can I work my radiators.

Any qualified advise at all would be appreciated as it would give me peice of mind that I don't get charged for work which I don't need.

Hi I have a Baxi Solo boiler RS model, used for central heating. I have an ignition light and the boiler lits up, but it's not pumping water into the central heating or heating up the system. Usually when you turn the heating on, you could hear the noise of water going into the central heating system.

My baxi boiler solo 3 not combi is leaking water above the the pilot burner lights.I dont know what seems to be the problem. I have opened the the cover of the boiler to fine more water in the cover please tell me what can be the problem.the left hand corner thats where the water is coming from and running donw the centre on burner switch plus its all rusted inside i just had my boiler installed in December 2003.

your problem is, if the fan light is on and it is not sparking, check in the viewing window, if it fails to spark it is probabvly ur air pressure switch.

well tk for what you must have spent on your boiler you probably could of had a new one. im abit lost on yours with out seeing it.he seems to have done must things.

littlechick it pos that your spark generater for lighting your pilot has gone / or pcb faulty get a plumber who can test it and run through its sequence. let us know how u get on.

Thanks for helping - I now have Boiler on light lit & Fan on light lit but the Pilot & burner lights are still out - do I need to do something else?

I am having the same problem and have done for three weeks. Only the Boiler light is lit. We have had the circuit board changed, the thermaflow(?), the pressure switch, pretty much every thing. It worked for a short while on Saturday after the engineer replaced the presure switch but it crapped out again after 4 hours. And again yesterday he got it going having replaced what looked like an electrical connector, but it failed to come back on again this morning with the timer, nor after turning the boiler off and resetting it.

have you tried resetting the boiler. open the front cover turn the thermostat to 0 then wait 15 secs then turn the thermostat back on about half way round. also turn your wall stat up so the heating wants to come on. if still no luck you'll need to check if theres main power getting there the fuse may have blown

I am having exactly the same problem - none of the 5 lights on the front of the boiler are lit - any advise??

you don't have a pressure/temp gauge because its not a combi.so you can't fill it yourself. you have hot water because it stored in the copper tank in the cupboard.
you should have 5 lights in the boiler next to the thermostat inside the front cover. what ones are lit up?.
