move the dvd player to another location, On some surfaces the dvd will make a loud humming noise and on others it does not. I've also tried placing books under the dvd player to remove the sound.

if there is scart leads going into your tv from a dvd/video ect.. make sure that they are in all the way tight, or change the ends around, or you can try a shorter scart lead if you have one,
