how can i fix my; samsung d500...????

i recently purchased a second hand "samsung d500" mobile , ive unlocked to all networks but im unable to make or recieve calls??? i can use all other features on the phone apart from this?? someone said i needed a new motherboard, how and where would i get my hands on one of these, and would i be able to fix it myself??
Any help would be gratefully apreciated...

it sounds like its locked blocked from the network they do this if lost or stolen.....a new board would solve this as it would be new imei just be like getting a new phone only it will prob cost you more than a new D500.....the imei can be changed on your phone to unblock it but its not legal.....you might be best to get a screen damaged D500 from ebay and just change the boards you could fix this yourself but its a bit fiddley.
