hotpoint door ( rubber seal )?

I would suggest replacing the door seal.Seals can be purchased from as little as £13.00 to £25.00 depending on model.Yes you can diy,using basic tools,but it will involve removing the machines front panel.Here's how,remove washers lid and front kick panel and soap dispenser drawer.Remove the seal from the front panel by prising out the spring loaded securing band from under the seal.remove the screws securing the control facia,two inside the dispenser drawer.lift the whole facia up and rest it ontop of the washer,you don't need to remove any of the components wiring.Remove the entire front panel by removing the screws at the top and bottom of the panel,hence the removal of the kick panel.Remove the panel and move it to the right hand side of the washer.I say right because of the interlock wiring,.Remove the retaining clip from the drum and remove the seal,.when fitting the new door seal you will notice a small drain hole,when fitting the new seal ensure this hole is at the 6oclock position.If yours is a washer/dryer,then the seal fitment will ensure the correct position of the drainage hole.

Usually a clip around the seal on outer edge, just clips off. Then you will be able to the strap holding the iner part of the seal in place to the outer drum, unscrew and pull seal off, If you go to espares.com they have a video of how to do it
